For the Anolon Advanced Bronze 9-Piece set, you won’t have the 8-inch open skillet and 12-inch grill pan, giving you 2 pieces less. But you will be given 2 10-inch by 15-inch cookie pans. At the time of writing, the 9-piece is about $30 cheaper on Amazon.

Hard anodized construction is known for its durability. The Anolon Advanced Bronze collection cookware set here is made of heavy gauge hard anodized aluminum to give efficient heat conductivity. The even heating should also prevent hot spots on the cooking surface.

The interior uses a nonstick formula which is the DuPont Autograph 2. This formula is made without PFOA and it is one of the most durable nonstick coatings by DuPont. It has a 3-layer multiple reinforced coating system and has been tested by professional chefs. DuPont Autograph 2 can withstand a maximum temperature of 500°F and it is claimed to be longer lasting than most other nonstick coatings. The other cookware that also uses the Autograph coating is the Circulon Infinite and Circulon Premier, both of which are also hard anodized cookware and selling in the same price range as the Anolon Advanced Bronze cookware set.

The handles are made of stainless steel and silicone and dual riveted to the pieces for strength and durability. These SureGrip handles are ergonomic in design and are oven-safe up to 400°F. The lids are dome-shaped and made of break-resistant glass.

The Anolon Advanced Bronze cookware is listed as non-dishwasher safe but is metal utensil safe with its Dupont Autograph 2 coating. It is also not suitable for induction cooktops.

Should You Buy The Anolon Advanced Bronze Collection Nonstick Cookware Set?

  1. Heavy and solid – The pieces could be a tad heavy for some. If you have been used to lighter weight cookware like the Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II or the T Fal Ultimate, this could be a change from the usual. The 11-piece cookware weighs over 27 pounds in total.
  2. Nonstick surface – Nothing sticks to the surface with the excellent food release system. Many buyers have commented that the pots and pans are easy to clean and the nonstick coating works beautifully.
  3. Looks pretty – Not everyone buys cookware because of its looks but it does tip the scale when you are deciding on which set to buy. The bronze color is unique and and the pots and pans do look good in the kitchen, which is a change from the duller black and grey.
  4. Durable – Few complaints are seen about the nonstick coating losing its effectiveness or worse, peeling and flaking. Thus far, most reviewers find that the coating does last a while. Those that have used them for 6 months find that the pieces still look new while others who have used them beyond 2 years are still happy with their set, which is rare for nonstick cookware.
  1. Handles get hot – The stainless steel part of the handles do get hot. So, you have to be careful when the pans have been left on the stove for a while.
  2. Not dishwasher safe – It is kind of unexpected to have a metal utensil safe set that is not dishwasher safe. Given the durability of the nonstick coating, we would have expected the pots and pans to be dishwasher safe. But it is not and you will have to hand wash them after cooking. The upside is cleaning is a breeze because nothing will cling stubbornly to the surface.
  3. Scratches easily – Some buyers do have complaints that the exterior scratches easily to mar its beautiful appearance. So, if you are buying it solely because of its looks, this might be a drawback. Extra care will be needed when it comes to cleaning and storing to maintain its smooth-looking finish.

At the price range that the Anolon Advanced Bronze Hard Anodized Nonstick cookware is selling at, the choices are aplenty. At nearly $300 for the 11-piece set, which is its normal retail price at the time of review, you can also get the Circulon Symmetry, which has the same number of pieces. One step below, you can find the Emeril E871SC64 Hard Anodized cookware and the Cuisinart Chef’s Classic which cost more than $100 less.

However, the reason you would want to pay more to get the Anolon Advanced Bronze collection is because it feels more solid and heavy than the much cheaper sets. You are also paying for the DuPont Autograph 2 coating, which definitely commands a premium and which has been proven to last as attested by various customer reviews.

  1. Jim LeBlanc says:

Inamnsomewhat disapointed with the exterior of the bronze pots and pans as they do scratch easily. I do use good paper towels between the, in the storage drawer.

  2. Following Anolon’s operation and use manual exactly, my 12-Inch non stick frying pan lost its non-stick after 6 months. Anolon’s lifetime warranty is a complete sham and should be investigated by Bureau of Consumer Protection Federal Trade Commission. I uploaded photos and explained my proper use of the pan to Analon customer service, only to be denied that I used high heat. I read the instructions before use and have a separate cast iron skillet for high heat, searing and fast cooking. My Anolon was used as a large sauce pan for low to medium heat cooking. I don’t like to be falsely accused of misusing a product only so Analon can continue to reap profits off their false advertising of a lifetime warranty.
